Ashley River Park
Ashley River Park is currently Dorchester County’s primary focus for development in the lower region.  The property’s attributes will make it a unique piece of the county park system.  It boasts nearly a mile of Ashley Scenic River frontage, a six-acre fishing pond, protected high-quality wetlands, and room for miles of trails right in the heart of a populated and growing area.  Design and permitting for this park are complete and construction will begin when funding is available.  Gift and sponsorship opportunities include: playground, shelters, fishing structures, dog park, spray fountain, pedestrian bridge to connect to Rosebrock Park, and more!

Davis-Bailey Park
The Davis Bailey Park in Saint George will immediately begin to address a strong demand for basic park and recreation facilities in the upper region of Dorchester County.  A true multiuse park, the facility will mix a variety of sports fields and courts with event spaces, paved walking trails, and a playground.  Design and permitting for this park are complete and construction will begin when funding is available.  Gift and sponsorship opportunities include: playground, community pavilion, trail, spray fountain, fields, courts, and more!  Click on this link to view the Davis Bailey Park Conceptual Plan.

Pine Trace Natural Area
Located off of Miles Jamison Road in a densely populated portion of eastern Dorchester County, Pine Trace Natural Area will offer an oasis of 300+ acres of mature hardwood forest.  Largely passive in nature, features will include extensive hiking trails, a connection to the future Eagle-Chandler Multiuse Trail, 18-hole disc golf course, pond-side picnic shelters and outdoor classroom, and a large dog park.  Gift and sponsorship opportunities include shelters, outdoor classroom, disc golf course holes, and the dog park.  Click on this link to view the Pine Trace Natural Area Conceptual Plan.

Trails
Multiple studies and public feedback have shown development of new multi-use trails and bike and pedestrian infrastructure to be a very high priority among Dorchester County residents.  The Sawmill Branch Trail in Summerville has seen tremendous success in recent years and we have a list of projects primed and ready to build on this momentum!  Much grant funding is available for such projects, but always requires a local match.  Talk with us to learn more about how you can become a trail champion through provision of matching funds!
